The Play is a 90 minutes Monodrama, which tells the story of the American Pro Palestinian Rachel Corrie, Born in 1979, through her diaries adapted to a theatrical work by journalists of the Guardian newspaper, Alan Rickman and Katherine Finer. The play was translated to Arabic by Director Riad Masarweh, and performed by Lana Zreiq. Masarweh explained to Reuters that what distinguishes this play is its release in the fifth memory of Rachel Corrie's death, in March 2003. He considered this work to be an attempt to find what might drive a 23-year-old young woman to abandon her comfortable life in the United States and come to Palestine. Masarweh does not conceal the difficulty of directing a play that depends on one actress, performing alone for a longer time than the usual. He says: "this play is not a classical work; you need to come into Rachel's heart and mind and what she meant behind every word she wrote in her diaries".
